Synopsis

This book, developed by the Psychology Program of UNAD, focuses on deepening and energizing the continuous reflection on the concept of Psychosocial Action, considering it essential for the education of professionals. Its structure, consisting of three main dialogs, combines theory with praxis and pedagogy. The First Dialog establishes the motivations for the work and reflects extensively on psychosocial action and intervention. The Second Dialog validates the relevance of this reflection through chapters by invited scholars, who approach the concept from ontological, epistemological and application perspectives in different territories and sustainability contexts.

Finally, the Third Dialog focuses on the role of the Psychosocial Action Course Network as a space for learning and pedagogies. The chapters included here demonstrate how the concept of action is fundamental in the philosophy of UNAD, guiding the role of the psychologist to adopt a critical praxis in the face of social realities. Overall, the book underlines the need to overcome the individualistic vision, adopting biopsychosocial postures framed in complexity, and reaffirms the idea that the study of "psychosocial" is a crucial epistemological field for psychology and the social sciences, promoting an expanded understanding of the self and its role in social transformation.
