Synopsis

Society and its progress depend largely on creativity, innovation and research. These fundamental elements play a vital role in finding solutions to the challenges we face. In this context, the Center for Research and Community Psychosocial Action (CIAPSC in Spanish) emerges as a prominent player, providing valuable contributions in the fields of psychology and community work. The Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia (UNAD) plays an essential role in promoting and strengthening the development of CIAPSC.

CIAPSC stands out as a knowledge-generating entity, focusing on social psychology and its approach to community work. Its innovative approach lies in the use of participatory techniques and active attention to the needs and problems of the communities it collaborates with. This methodology enables the identification of specific challenges and participation in the creation of solutions tailored to each context, fostering community member training and promoting sustainable development.

CIAPSC's innovation engine is based on interdisciplinary collaboration. The synergy between professionals from various disciplines strengthens the comprehensive approach to solving complex social issues. The promotion of action-research in project planning and execution is a hallmark of CIAPSC, aligning theory with practice to generate substantial and sustainable changes in communities. In this context, UNAD has a critical opportunity to play a vital role in CIAPSC’s development. By encouraging research, providing ongoing training to its team, and collaborating with students, the university can enrich and consolidate the Center's capabilities. In addition, institutional support provides greater visibility and access to resources, promoting the expansion of its influence in various local and regional settings.
