Synopsis

Filandia is a municipality in the department of Quindío, Colombia, which belongs to the coffee cultural landscape, was for many years a territory of peasant tradition and, in 2011, was declared a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). In order to describe these transformations, an academic exercise was carried out in which twelve significant actors from the community were interviewed, which allowed us to explore the nature of these changes. The analysis of the content of these speeches inspired the construction of an ethnographic narrative, in which the voices of the protagonists are present in the text telling the facts
and meanings of this new way of inhabiting their territory.
