Synopsis

The purpose of this study was to analyse the process of labour inclusion of people with disabilities in the context of Ibagué, identifying psychosocial risk factors and their relationship with engagement from the perspective of inclusive prevention. It was developed under a mixed research approach, of a sequential explanatory type, with the quantitative phase being the basis for the development of the qualitative stage on which the results are presented. Five employers and twenty-three employees with physical and sensory disabilities participated in a non-probabilistic sampling by convenience
and homogeneous cases. A semi-structured interview was used, whose design was based on the categories: labour inclusion, inclusive prevention, psychosocial risks, and engagement. It was found that labour inclusion is a relatively new process in the city, which is marked by stigma and the absence of an inclusive organisational culture; also, in companies that hire people with disabilities there is a distant perception between employees and employers in relation to occupational risks and, although employees identify psychosocial risks in their environment, their sense of belonging, responsibility,
and commitment to work is high.
