Mediación pedagógica en la era digital : Investigación y prácticas en el aprendizaje de idiomas potenciado por la tecnología

Completed two master’s degrees, one in Applied Linguistics for Teaching English as a Foreign Language at University of Jaén, and another in Teaching English as a Foreign Language at UNINI. She has participated in a teacher education program at La Gran Colombia University and currently, she is working at National University as an English professor and at UNAD University as both an English professor and researcher.

Is a Ph.D. student in Educational Innovation and Digital Culture at Universidad de Cartagena and holds a
Master’s in ICT-mediated Educational Projects from Universidad de la Sabana. She is a professor and researcher at the University of Córdoba, Colombia, where she coordinates the pedagogical research practice for the Bachelor’s program in Educational Computer Science. Professor Lee specializes in educational technology and teacher training, focusing on ICT tool adoption. Her doctoral research examines the gap between technological skills acquired in higher education and the infrastructure available in pre-service teachers’ internship settings, evaluating its impact on developing 21st-century skills. She has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at international conferences on topics including open teaching, learning virtualization, ICTmediated instructional strategies, and inclusive education resources. Through her work, Professor Lee advances educational technology, bridging theory
and practice in teacher education. 

Holds a bachelor’s degree in Basic Education with an Emphasis in Humanities and Foreign Language (English), she also has a Specialization in Pedagogy, and a Master’s degree in Education. Currently, pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Technology at Central China Normal University, she is dedicated to advancing educational practices through innovative approaches. As a professor in the Foreign Language  Teaching Program at Universidad de la Amazonia and an English teacher at I.E. Jorge Eliécer Gaitán in Florencia, Caquetá, Colombia, Paola’s research focuses on Game-Based Learning (GBL), educational technology, and Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL). Her work seeks to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes by integrating cutting-edge pedagogical strategies.

Is a Full-time Professor at Universidad de Antioquia, Colombia. He holds an M.A. in TESOL from Greensboro College, U.S., and is currently a PhD candidate in Education at Universidad Nacional de Rosario, Argentina. Professor Picón has been the academic coordinator of the Faculty EFL Program, the coordinator of the GIAE research group, the coordinator of the Testing Unit, the Research Coordinator, and the faculty representative at the School of Languages of Universidad de Antioquia. His professional experience includes teaching in undergraduate and graduate programs, leading curricular designs in the field of language assessment, and language assessment literacy (LAL) strategies in the same field.
His interests regarding research include language assessment and testing, learner and teacher autonomy, and narrative research. Professor Picón is currently the coordinator of the evaluation line of the GIAE research group and the academic advisor for the testing unit of the School of Languages at the same university. 

Holds a Master of Arts in English Didactics and a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Languages. She currently serves as a Language Professor and Academic Advisor for the Testing, Evaluation, and Certification Unit within the School of Languages at Universidad de Antioquia, Colombia. Additionally, she is a member of the Grupo de Investigación Acción y Evaluación en Lenguas Extranjeras (GIAE) at the same institution. Her research interests encompass language assessment and testing, learner and teacher autonomy, and narrative research. Her professional experience includes instructing English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in various contexts, designing examinations and assessments, and conducting professional development workshops for educators at universities, schools, and language centers.

Holds an M.A in English Teaching Didactics and a B.A in Philology and Languages. She previously served as director of Innovation at the International Center of Foreign Languages and Cultures, Universidad de La Sabana, where she led the development of Plan Umbrella, a blended-flipped English language program. The program received awards from organizations such as the Bett Latin American Leadership Summit (2016) and TESOL International (2020). Currently, she is a professor and coordinator of international affairs at the School of Languages, Universidad de Antioquia, and an affiliated researcher with the Action Research and Evaluation in Foreign Languages Group (GIAE). Her research interests include technologymediated language learning and the professional development of language teachers. Throughout her career, she has contributed to advancing innovative practices in education and language teaching, supporting both teachers and learners in adapting to new pedagogical approaches.

Earned her Ph.D. from the Schulich School of Education at Nipissing University in Ontario, Canada, in 2017. Her research was published in peerreviewed journals in Canada and the U.S., such as Dialogic Pedagogy, Inquiry in Education, Contemporary Education Dialogue, International Journal of Education and the Arts, and the Journal of Unschooling and Alternative Learning. Her recent research project under the leadership of Dr. Eugene Matusov and Dr. Mark Smith explored ChatGPT and its dialogical potential to think/write like a human being, and a co-authored paper was published in the peer-reviewed journal Culture & Psychology. Her current specialization is AI in Education, including mixed-methods research on the educational, imaginative, and professional possibilities of LLMs in a sociocultural context of student-centered experiential, immersive learning and educational leadership. 

Leader of Curriculum Management Network of Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia - UNAD (National Open and Distance University). Academic peer of the National Accreditation Council CNA - Ministry of National Education - MEN. Ph.D. in Educational Sciences. M.A. in Education - Educational Systems Policies and Management. Specialist in Applied Linguistics in the Teaching of English. Degree in Modern Languages (Spanish-English). With a background of more than 20 years of experience in virtual, distance, and face-to-face university teaching in the areas of pedagogy, English and educational research, bilingual interculturalism, curriculum, and areas of education; in tutoring, teaching, and assistance in regional bilingual programs; coordination and leadership of undergraduate and postgraduate academic programs and academic projects.

She has also contributed to research, leading research lines and groups in educational fields, and has played a key role in designing undergraduate and postgraduate programs in distance, virtual, and face-to-face education. Her work includes publications, papers, and contributions in areas such as bilingualism, interculturalism, pedagogy, evaluation, didactics, and more. 

MA. in Education, is an English teacher at the Virtual Institute of Languages of the Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia (UNAD). With more than 15 years of experience in teaching English as a foreign language and a specialization in distance higher education, her work focuses on English Training, motivation in learning, and new teaching trends aligned with autonomous learning. Her latest published work, “Experiencia Exitosa: CLIL en la Vida Universitaria Unadista en Contextos Regionales,” was co-authored and featured in the proceedings of the 4th Unadista Colloquium held in November 2023. She is a strong advocate for bilingualism projects for the regions, building her expertise in leadership and the design of proposals focused on second language training processes, through various methodologies.

Is a PhD candidate in Education and holds a Master’s degree in Education. He serves as a research professor at the Faculty of Education and Humanities at Universidad Católica Luis Amigó, where he contributes to both teaching and academic research. His academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Universidad San Buenaventura, Medellín, and a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching Modern Languages (English–French) from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana. Mr. Vanegas is an active member of the Education, Childhood, and Foreign Languages research group, where his work explores the intersections of education, language pedagogy, and cultural studies. His research interests center on how cultural factors influence language teaching and learning, particularly within the field of foreign language education. Mr. Vanegas’s scholarly contributions reflect his commitment to advancing education and cultural studies through rigorous research and pedagogical innovation.

Is a professor at UNAD in Medellín, specializing in teaching English and French in virtual environments. He holds a degree in Foreign Languages and a specialization in Distance Higher Education. His research focuses on innovative strategies for language teaching, integrating new technologies such as digital platforms, augmented reality, and virtual environments. Toscano has developed projects that promote student autonomy, personalize learning, and enhance interaction in distance learning environments, contributing to the improvement of language skills and the efficient use of technology in education.

Holds a degree in Modern Languages from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and a Master’s degree in Evaluación  y Aseguramiento de la Calidad de la Educación from the Universidad Externado. He currently teaches at Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia (UNAD), ascribed to the Bachelor’s Degree Program in Foreign Languages with Emphasis in English at the Escuela de Ciencias de la Educación (ECEDU) in Medellín. He has collaborated with other education experts in designing, developing, and implementing innovative learning and teaching products in various fields, such as languages and Philosophy for  hildren. He has incorporated technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and  augmented reality to enhance educational experience and skills development. His focus is on the use of ICT tools to improve learning.

Holds a Master’s degree in Neuropsychology and Education from Fundación Universitaria Internacional de La Rioja (UNIR), where he conducted research on the relationship between working memory and mathematics performance. Additionally, he earned a Specialization degree in Higher Distance Education at UNAD, focusing on digital pedagogical strategies to enhance teachers’ conscious attention. He also holds a degree in English as a Foreign Language from UNAD and a degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidad de Antioquia. He has worked as a professor at the UNAD and has supervised undergraduate and graduate theses on motivation and autonomy in English learning. He is co-author of the book “La Educación 4.0 Para la Sostenibilidad en Contextos Cambiantes”, published in 2020 by Susaeta Ediciones Compañía Ltda.

Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Languages (English-French) from Universidad de Pamplona, a Master’s degree in Foreign Language Teaching from Universidad Pedagógica Nacional, and a Master’s degree in Discourse Analysis and Didactics of French as a Foreign or Second Language from Université de Nantes. His fields of knowledge and expertise include curriculum development in foreign languages, virtual and distance education in higher education mediated by technologies, didactics of foreign languages (English and French), research processes in foreign language education, argumentative and pedagogical discourse analysis, development of digital educational resources, and virtual learning environments. 

Is the leader of the Master’s Program in Pedagogical Mediation in English Learning at UNAD, leader of the Virtualex research group, and the editor of the formative research journal EducAcción Sentipensante.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Languages, a Specialization degree in Teaching Spanish as a Mother Language, a Master’s degree in Education, and a PhD in Education. Her fields of knowledge and expertise include virtual and distance education in technology-mediated settings, the development of digital educational resources and virtual learning environments, higher education, inclusive education, and pedagogical mediation in language learning.

She has worked at La Gran Colombia, Antonio Nariño, and Cundinamarca universities. Nowadays, she is working as an English professor and researcher at Santo Tomás University.

Is a Full Professor at Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Innovation and Digital Culture at the University of Cartagena. She holds two Master’s degrees: one in Pedagogical Mediation in English Language Learning from Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia, and another in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana. Additionally, she completed a Specialization in Educational Management and earned a B.A. in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia. Her credentials also include a TESOL certificate from Perimeter College, USA. As an active researcher, she is a member of both the IMCLE and SIMILES research groups. Her primary research interests encompass ELT strategies, young learners’ perceptions and emotions in the language acquisition process, the integration of innovative technological approaches such as gamification in education, and global digital citizenship. Her work also focuses on pedagogical mediation in English language learning and the development of virtual learning environments for English as a foreign language instruction.
