Chapter 4. Management and socialization of knowledge in international centers

Carlos Alberto Muñoz Gutiérrez,

Synopsis

This chapter explores how the Writing, Reading, Communication and Knowledge Centers manage and socialize knowledge, focusing on their research strategies, publications, academic events, cooperation networks and internationalization. The Writing, Reading, Communication and Knowledge Centers promote research through multiple perspectives: individual productivity of their members, their own projects and participation in inter-institutional events.  Centers such as the University of Hildesheim in Germany and the University of Texas in Austin stand out, which have generated their own academic journals and prominent international publications. Also, the importance of events such as conferences, academic days and workshops that strengthen the academic community and encourage collaboration is highlighted. Cooperation networks allow exchanges of knowledge, methodologies and resources, being essential to expand the impact of the Writing, Reading, Communication and Knowledge Centers. In addition, internationalization is addressed as a cross-functional strategy, both for publishing in other languages and participating in global networks. The chapter concludes that these actions are essential to position the Writing, Reading, Communication and Knowledge Centers as centers of knowledge production, management and transfer, highlighting their active role in educational transformation. This discussion allows us to project good practices replicable by other academic institutions.
