Chapter 2. Digital educational resources in international centers

Edwin Andres Londoño Alape,

Synopsis

This segment complements the analysis of digital educational resources used by international Writing, Reading, Communication and Knowledge Centers, specifically addressing audio resources such as podcasts, screencasts and conferences. The pedagogical benefits of these formats are highlighted and their applications within the teaching-learning processes are discussed. The chapter identifies how these resources promote student autonomy, self-directed learning, and effective mediation of complex content. In addition, the technical and methodological challenges that the Writing, Reading, Communication and Knowledge Centers face in implementing these materials are discussed, proposing practical solutions based on the strategic use of educational technology. A central part of the chapter is the classification table of educational resources according to their type (visual, audio, audiovisual and textual), which offers a clear framework for their identification and evaluation. A taxonomy of resources applicable to formal and non-formal educational contexts is also established. As a whole, this chapter strengthens the methodological proposal of the book, by offering tools to improve educational practices from an international and comparative perspective. The text emphasizes the value of these resources for pedagogical innovation, critical student training and the design of more inclusive and participatory virtual learning environments.
