Ingrid Johanna Gómez Leguizamón,

Synopsis

It is evident that technology has had a monumental growth in the last 2 years, since the pandemic brought us an enormous challenge by having to move our daily lives to virtuality. As of 2021, the growth of opportunities in this sector was 8.5% and by 2022 growth is expected to be around 9.4%, according to figures provided by the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE, 2021).
But these figures take into account the participation of the entire sector, in order to analyze  participation  by  gender  in  this  field  that  is  so  “exclusive  for  men”  we  must  resort to other types of statistics that unfortunately give us a somewhat discouraging panorama,  since  You  can  see  that  the  female  gender  that  develops  professionally  reaches barely 23% and worldwide only 30% of women are researchers in the area of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, according to the report generated by UN Women, 2021.These figures generate great concern, why is this sector so biased towards women? Is it possible that the sector is designed from a proposal in which men are the only ones who can carry out these tasks? Could it be that women do not Do they feel qualified to develop these activities or, better, has society taken charge of sectorizing the jobs or activities that women can carry out? There are many questions that are generated regarding this topic and the objective of this research is to visualize a possible cause and try to generate an alternative that allows us to provide a different vision that contributes development to women and that seeks to serve as an alternative to the technology sector. Who suffers from great ailments when it comes to finding qualified personnel for these tasks.
