Synopsis

Evaluating  competencies  within  organizations  has  become  an  essential  aspect  in  different areas of organizational development such as: personnel selection, performance analysis and job satisfaction in any of the positions that companies require; Since through the implementation of tools such as the BEI critical incident interview, the  capacity  of  the  interviewee  to  face  situations  that  demand  a  specific  response  of their competences is evaluated, in addition to allowing a record of the behavior of the interviewees (Oliveira and Aylmer, 2019).In this article, a descriptive bibliographic review is developed, subsequently the different applications of the BEI interview in the organizational environment are identified and detailed, recognizing its functionality in that context. After its review and conceptualization, it is concluded that it is the main and most complete evaluation technique by competencies at the organizational level, but that, given its complexity and depth, a variety of resources must be available for its adequate elaboration.
