Synopsis

This chapter analyzes social intervention processes aimed at strengthening the sustainability of sugarcane cultivation for panela production in the municipality of La Unión, Sucre. Using a participatory approach, the study examines social, cultural, economic, and educational factors that influence community organization and the development of panela production activities. The chapter proposes strategies based on community awareness, participation, and collective organization to improve productive conditions and promote local entrepreneurship initiatives. The findings highlight the importance of collaborative work and the coordination between communities and institutions to foster sustainable rural development.

Psicóloga, Especialista en Procesos Familiares y Comunitarios, Candidata a Maestría en Psicología Comunitaria (UNAD), Docente ocasional de la Escuela de Ciencias Sociales Artes y Humanidades ECSAH, de la Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia - UNAD. Grupo de Investigación PSICOSAHAGUN. UNAD CCAV Sahagún.

Yaneth de Jesús Galindo Mora, Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia

Médico Veterinario y Zootecnista, especialista en Gestión Pública y candidata a Magíster en desarrollo sostenible alternativo y solidario; experiencia en manejo y salud animal, nivel de inglés intermedio. Docente de la Escuela de Ciencias Agrícolas Pecuarias y del Medio Ambiente – ECAPMA. Competencias: capacidad, competencia y experiencia en: a) Investigador Pecuario, Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia - UNAD, b) Manejo de bovinos c) Árbitro externo en revistas científicas a nivel nacional.
