Synopsis

This research aims to consult the necessary information from the Penitentiary and Prison Centers of the city of Valledupar, which serves as the basis for establishing guidelines that help address the rehabilitation of the prison population and make known the occupational indicators of inmates through their participation in productive activities. The purpose is to carry out a study that allows us to identify the entrepreneurial initiatives that exist as an alternative for improvement within the Prison Centers of Valledupar. Objective: to determine the influence that entrepreneurship actions have within the Valledupar Prison Centers regarding their rehabilitation process and/or as an occupational option through the entrepreneurial and productive ideas developed within these centers. Methodology: Cronbach’s Alpha statistical method was used for data analysis. The type of research was descriptive with a non-experimental field design. As an instrument for collecting information, a survey was applied through a questionnaire to a sample representing the population under study, including the custody and surveillance body, administrative and managerial staff, and the main source of information, which were the inmates of the establishments. To support this research, authors such as Milton Friedman (1970), Kolstad (2007), Porter and Kramer (2002), Skoll in Dearlove (2004), and Olsen (2004) were consulted. Results: the findings show that there are many needs within the prisons of Valledupar for the development and implementation of productive activities and, consequently, for the formalization of entrepreneurial ideas.
