Effects of the Instructional Design of the Distance University of Colombia on the Arawak Ethnic Group Students

Mardelia Padilla Santamaría,

Synopsis

This study aimed to determine the effects of the instructional design of the Universidad a Distancia de Colombia (Distance University of Colombia in English) UDC on students of the Arawak ethnic group, according to the application of the Ralph Tyler model. In this sense, those students are experiencing desertion, low academic performance, and low acquisition of competencies throughout the training process due to the difficulties encountered in the implementation and evaluation of the current instructional design, which, despite being well-defined and stipulated the pedagogical academic project has inconsistencies in the didactic strategies and in the application of the transfer phases.

Additionally, in the preliminary review of the literature, a gap has been found between the instructional design of the institution and the difficulty that Arawak students have in gaining their learning because they have learning styles based on their oral and cultural tradition.
