Synopsis

In these pages, the reader will find the experiences, learnings, and legacies of the laboratory "From the Scientific Representation to the Poetic Image" and the efforts of the working duos made up of artists from different languages and representatives of the sciences. Duos or groups that generated a mosaic or melting pot of knowledge, ideas, projects, proposals, emotions, and feelings by discovering and rediscovering the world through the gaze of the other and understanding the image as a place of creation, of poetic and scientific thought. Thus, producing both technical-scientific and sensitive knowledge in the laboratory and in the book. Among other topics, the reader will find pictorial comparisons, journeys through time, various reflections on the obsession for observation between artists and scientists, reflections on sense-perception and thought, and conversations and epistolary dialogues between artists and scientists. The reader will discover how ontogeny reproduces phylogeny, creates fictional bridges between the microscopic world and the imaginary, and be surprised by neuro-physio-poetic narratives. There is no, or instead, it is unnecessary, and there should not be an impenetrable separation between the aesthetic and the intellectual. The learning space is multimodal, and it should be more of a trans-disciplinary social process of interpretative creation/discussion, group work, and the search for the why, the after scene. The body of this work, including the experiences, stories, anecdotes, and reflections included here, make this text an important reference in the connection between art and science, a field that is becoming increasingly attractive and relevant every day.
