Gloria Liliana González González,

Synopsis

This project reviewed various documentary sources on the internet in order to determine the establishments that allow bitcoin as a form of payment (degree of acceptance) in common transactions since 2015 in the department of Huila, to know the establishments that accept it and to identify the key aspects in its use to determine the benefits and drawbacks.

The methodology presented by the project is descriptive with a qualitative approach using the survey as an instrument for collecting information, the study population was determined according to the Coinmap website, which provides global information on the amount and location of the establishments that accept bitcoin; Seven commercial establishments were referenced, five in the city of Neiva and two in the city of Garzón.

The results show a low level of acceptability in the shops of the department of Huila, mainly due to the lack of knowledge and the low financial inclusion present in both ordinary people and in the commercial sector, as well as government positions that call into question the legality and the usability of bitcoin within economics and finance.
