Economic Characterization of the Municipality of Cachipay, Cundinamarca

Abstract

This research is a detailed description of the economic sectors in Municipality of Cachipay, Cundinamarca, with the objective of discovering opportunities for progress and economic growth in the region in the face of the growing development of the foliage sector that accompany the export flowers of the western Cundinamarca. A combined approach using quantitative and qualitative information on the population, economic industries and business tactics is employed. This study is important and appropriate for the socioeconomic and cultural environment of Cachipay and has the collaboration of the Community Action Boards of the Cachipay municipality and the Facatativá Chamber of Commerce. The initiative sheds light on the problem of expanding the agricultural frontier, the production needs of countries receiving export products such as flowers.
