Great Women Thinkers of the Middle Ages

César Oswaldo Ibarra,

Synopsis

The textbook "Great Women Thinkers of the Middle Ages" gathers information on the life and work of fifteen women who in the Middle Ages stood out for their contributions to philosophy, theology and mysticism and who, with their contributions, built not only an important cultural and intellectual heritage but also left their denunciation against misogyny and machismo and claimed with their words and writings and with their political and social commitment, the rights of women to education, to participate in politics and in social life.   To this end, each of the thinkers is presented with elements that allow a simple but complete approach to her work (an image, an introduction, the context of her life, a timeline, the presentation of her works, a synthesis of her ideas, a conclusion, a selected text and a brief bibliography to expand on the topic).  In addition, we would like to have a text that can be used in the course 401203 Medieval Philosophy as a study text.
