Synopsis

The document is the result of the projects of the Vulcanos Research Group, with more than fifteen years of research conducted with the communities of the Department of Nariño, and whose central axis is entrepreneurship, product of the interaction with the stakeholders who seek, in their productive activities, means of income and consolidation of their enterprises in the territory, while projecting them at both the local and global levels.

The book consists of five chapters approached chronologically, from the beginnings of the structured processes of argumentation for the generation of business ideas, mediated by technologies, where argumentation software help to obtain realistic scenarios, through the import of large amounts of data, to propose the conditions for undertakings that respond to the needs and problems of the community contexts and of the region towards the world.

Subsequently, the book revisits studies on instructional learning and gamification oriented to entrepreneurship, with the aim of training and educating in entrepreneurial skills and spirit in the region. Finally, the third chapter presents proposals on formats for characterizing entrepreneurial competencies, intended as a model in any geographical context, maintaining the balance among diagnosis, education, strengthening and consolidation of such competencies, to achieve the long-awaited culture of entrepreneurship in the region. This requires interinstitutional agreements, community interest in continuous training and the physical and technological infrastructure to bridge the existing gaps, contributing to the fulfillment of the SDGs - Sustainable Development Goals.

The fourth chapter presents research and interventions conducted at the level of the value chain of some products and services from Nariño, as well as the actions carried out with the communities to contribute to their training in management and business strengthening. The fifth chapter discusses technologies and entrepreneurship, which is obtained as a result of the great changes produced in times of uncertainty, both locally and globally, where the events of the pandemic and the social outbreak led companies and entrepreneurs to look for creative ways and means to survive in a market with great financial and commercial difficulties.

The structure of the components of entrepreneurial competencies derived from the research journeys has territorial foundations and was built with the contribution and feelings of the regional communities, where government intervention is urgently needed, as is the investment in physical and technological infrastructure and the transformation of curricula oriented towards entrepreneurial processes of innovation, global projection and high technological qualification. The expectation is for this path, filled with both challenges and opportunities, to continue its course and serve as a guide for those researching entrepreneurship. The journey continues because entrepreneurial competencies will always be in continuous evolution in line with local and global changes, as communities see their ventures as the only way to consolidate their life plans and generate sources of income for the benefit of their families and regions. Intangible wealth makes it possible to lead enterprises with a high degree of differentiation, and entrepreneurs have a great interest in learning and upskilling; therefore, entities must continue coordinated actions and academia is called upon to contribute with training and research processes to achieve it.
