Synopsis

As part of the effort to disseminate scientific production and in the responsible search for socializing knowledge, the book Subjectivities and Territory: Rethinking Coexistence has been co-published with the support of the Sello Editorial (Publishing House) of the Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia and the Faculty of Social Work at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata. The contributions in each chapter present the reflections of some of the speakers invited to the Colloquium of the same name as the book, along with works from other researchers who contribute to the discussions about coexistence, the production of the public sphere and the disputes for meaning that unfold in our America. Each chapter uniquely weaves a reflexive search on the ways in which these coexistences occur. How is the common space inhabited? In what ways do state responses to different social phenomena take shape? What patterns emerge in the production of gender justice, territorial and socio-environmental ideologies? How are “other” common spaces configured for the emergence of subjectivities in school environments? What research perspectives help understand phenomena of inequality and injustice? How can racial, cultural, gender, and learning differences be addressed in the fields of education and pedagogy? These are the questions that guided the discussions, and which are now reflected in this book in greater detail. The book is divided into two parts. The first part, titled Other Possible Justices: From Gender and Territory for a Common Cause, includes five research papers and reflections related to public policies and management; socio-environmental justice, territorial justice, gender justice and anti-racist pedagogies. The second part, Inclusion and Disability in Education, presents three research results related to inclusion in education and its association with categories such as migration, relational pedagogies and experiences of inclusion in secondary schools. All of this is framed within the context of educational policies and, especially, the right to education, in light of the enormous inequalities and injustices impacting education in our region.
