New challenges in the expansion of the simón bolívar airport in santa marta, for the export of cargo products and the transport of passengers

With continued market expansion, countries are rebuilding airports to become more competitive in international trade and passenger traffic, leading to regional economic development. The purpose of this publication is to study the emerging challenges of expanding the Simón Bolívar International Airport (SMR) for the export of cargo and passenger transport products. First, a literature review of the scientific background of the airport expansion was conducted, followed by a study of the benefits of the implemented infrastructure expansion with respect to the export of cargo and passenger products, and finally highlighting the importance of the proposed plan. An airport expansion that bears its international name and meets all the requirements of competitiveness at the level of implicit globalization. First, we gather information on the expansion of airports at international, national and regional levels. Next, we analyze the benefits of SMC's expansion for the export of cargo and passenger transport products, in order to highlight why the proposed expansion of the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Santa Marta is important for Magdalena.
