Synopsis

The project Technological mediations in early childhood education:   understandings from the experiences of boys and girls in Colombia characterizes, with a differential approach, the experience of children from 5 to 6 years old in Colombia in relation to technology-mediated education and the use of research methods with children.

The study is justified from three basic premises: 1) in Colombia, the MEN, the Min-TIC and the ICBF have promulgated guidelines and initiatives aimed at promoting the integration of technologies in the education of children from early childhood; 2) remote education and the integration of technologies in early childhood education became a strategy in times of the Covid-19 pandemic to guarantee the right to education of boys and girls. This showed that technological mediation occupied a leading place in early childhood education in times of pandemic, and the respective teaching inexperience was a challenge to overcome, and 3) boys and girls as subjects of rights have the capabilities and dispositions to participate in matters that affect their lives; consequently participating children have the opportunity to express their voices in relation to the educational experience with technologies. Such insights are considered fundamental to advance knowledge and the use of technological mediations in early childhood education.

This chapter presents in detail the statement of the problem and the proposed methodological route for its development.
