Estructura del bosque secundario en el municipio de Florencia, Caquetá

This chapter describes the installation process of a Permanent Carbon Monitoring Plot (PCMP) on the Cocoa Ruber property, in Florencia – Caquetá. 580 trees with a CAP >10 cm were identified, belonging to 66 species, 53 genera and 34 botanical families. The results highlight the importance of these secondary forests in carbon capture, which contributes to climate change mitigation. The study concludes that these ecosystems, despite their young age, already demonstrate significant contributions in terms of ecosystem services. This research provides a valuable foundation for future work in environmental monitoring and conservation in the Colombian Amazon region.
