Studies of poverty, inequality and urban (in)justice from the perspective of the Latin American city

Diego Andrés González Cardona, ; Mónica Olmedo Muñoz,

Synopsis

This chapter reflects on the relationship between aesthetics, politics and memory from a philosophical and critical perspective. It analyzes how hegemonic discourses configure forms of collective oblivion, especially in contexts of violence and armed conflict. The author proposes an ethical-aesthetic approach to memory, where art and literary creation are constituted as mechanisms to resist silence and activate alternative ways of remembering. The text calls for recognizing excluded memories and promoting practices that destabilize official narratives, proposing that the act of remembering is, in itself, an act of social transformation.
