The Pan-Amazon in 200 notes : Risks of Systemic Crises for Humanity and Alternative Courses of Action

Jorge Reinel Pulecio Yate,

Synopsis

The book “La Amazonía en 200 notas” (The Amazon region in 200 notes) by Jorge Pulecio addresses different topics of the Amazon region in a holistic way, under a historical perspective of what has been the evolution of this region of the planet. It shows the reasons for the difficulties of the so-called Western world to address the biological and cultural diversity of a territory, which, despite the impacts received for centuries, does not bow to the extractivist impetus.

Keywords: systemic crisis, environmental evolution, extractivism in the Amazon region, economic dynamics, protected areas, indigenous territories
