Synopsis

This article describes the formulation of a VRP model for garbage collection in communes 2, 3, 6 and 8 of the city of Villavicencio as a result of an initiative for an improvement plan for the company that provides the SAS service of Bioagrícola of the Llano. Under the traditional system of collection by sidewalks, there are drawbacks such as the high operating costs implicit in traveling long distances (fuel consumption, depreciation of the vehicle, among others), the hiring of labor. in addition, environmental inconveniences to eliminate the garbage in this way due to the formation of plagues and the possible contagion of diseases. The project has three (3) phases for its development, starting with the identification of the most relevant variables in the approach and execution of the model through a previous bibliographic review, then continues with the development of a static transport model of collection of containers for the minimization of costs taking into account the restrictions and requirements of the company and the users, finally a comparison is made of the current model of collection by sidewalks and the model proposed by containers that verify the improvements in the operative efficiency of the process of collection and disposal of waste in the city.
