Model of gender entrepreneurship and social inclusion

Palencia Fajardo, Ofelia,

Synopsis

Considering women as an active actor in rural and urban entrepreneurship, a model is generated to evaluate female entrepreneurship, in accordance with Colombian public policies (Vega, 2018), in organized groups; this is how it is intended to characterize women entrepreneurs in the department of Huila, considering their exclusion, marginality, exploitation, and degree of dependence, through the analysis of independent, dependent and control variables, which is done through a participatory action.

The contributions of Díaz, Hernández, Sánchez and Postigo (2010) were taken into account, with the contributions to gender theory, a comparative study; Bonan and Guzmán (2007), contributions of gender theory to the understanding of social dynamics and the specific issues of associativity, identity and power participation; Henríquez-Daza et al. (2010), the creation of companies in Colombia under the female and male perceptions; Torrente Castro (2016), a case study in the association of coffee women in western Huila; ISO 26000 (2010), a corporate social responsibility guide to assess corporate responsibility in the 7 core areas.

The model includes the analysis factors: exclusion, marginality, degree of exploitation and dependence, based on the assumptions that women are more organized than men in relation to entrepreneurship structures and have short-term goals with a long-term market vision, and that for MSMEs to be competitive in national and international markets, they must assume the strategy of associativity. The methodology used in the research is the exploratory and explanatory based on literature, research background and approach to associative groups, considering the following hypotheses:

  1. Women are more organized than men in relation to entrepreneurship structures and have short-term goals with long-term market vision.
  2. In order for MSMEs to be competitive in national and international markets, they must assume associativity as a strategy.
