Synopsis

This mixed research combines qualitative research, participatory action research (IAP) with logical framework methodology (MML) to propose an action plan for the implementation of the “Productive Farm” chain strategy as an innovative process for rural and peace development. in the district of “El Castillo”, municipality of “El Cerrito - Valle del Cauca”. This will be a solution to the problem formulated as a loss of agricultural vocation in “El Castillo”, as an effect of the establishment of the industry by drug traffickers who came to the district, producing in the long term, loss of quality of life, income and displacements. The productive chain strategy is a solution that was projected from the public policy derived from the second of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): “End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture” which was developed in the second pillar of the Regional Development Plan of Valle del Cauca for 2016 - 2019: “El Valle está en vos: competitiveness and development”. The IAP involved four families, the Community Action Board and the UNAD Researcher as actors interested in transforming their reality supported by the MML. The final product will be the action plan that supports the customized training program for social transformation. In the long term, the productive chains strategy must be implemented to bring together small agricultural productive units to have visibility in the market to impact their social development with regional projection.
